Zambia’s Elizabeth Mukoloma Shines at 2025 Comrades Marathon

Kansanshi Mine Plc has proudly hailed the extraordinary performance of Elizabeth Mukoloma at the 2025 Comrades Marathon in South Africa, where she achieved a historic 18th-place finish in the women’s category. The Zambian long-distance runner completed the grueling 87-kilometre ultramarathon in 6 hours, 45 minutes, and 17 seconds, marking a milestone for Zambian athletics on the global stage.

Mukoloma, who led the race for the first 61 kilometres, captivated fans back home, including many of her supporters at Kansanshi Mine where she has been a part of the Kansanshi Athletics Club for 15 years. Her strong showing in one of the world’s most prestigious ultramarathon events highlights not only her own dedication and talent but also Kansanshi Mine’s sustained investment in nurturing local sports talent.

Mukoloma’s appearance at the Comrades Marathon adds to her growing list of international appearances, including competitions in Botswana and other parts of South Africa. Her mentorship role at Kansanshi Athletics Club aligns with the mine’s holistic approach to sport, which emphasises development, exposure, and long-term support.
