ZPL Awards Konkola Blades Win After ZESCO Field Ineligible Players
The Zambian Premier League (ZPL) has handed Konkola Blades a 3–0 victory over ZESCO United after the Ndola giants were found guilty of fielding ineligible players in their Week One fixture.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, ZPL Head of Communications Christina Zulu confirmed that the league had reviewed the match and applied sanctions in line with competition regulations.
“The match result has been awarded as a 3–0 victory to Konkola Blades. ZESCO United has also been fined K10,000, payable within seven days,” the statement read.
ZESCO United, who had originally registered a positive start to their campaign on the pitch, now face the setback off the field but retain the right to appeal the decision to the FAZ Disciplinary Committee.
The ruling marks the first disciplinary decision of the 2025/26 MTN Super League season.
