ZESCO United Confident Ahead of CAF Confederation Cup Clash Against FC 105

ZESCO United assistant coach Emmanuel Siwale says his side is fully prepared and confident ahead of their 2025/26 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup First Preliminary Round first leg clash against Gabonese side Football Canon 105. The match is set for tomorrow at 17:00 hours at the Franceville Stadium.
Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Siwale revealed that the Zambian giants have enjoyed smooth preparations and are determined to secure a positive result away from home.
“We have prepared very well, and the boys have responded to the preparation very well. The morale is very high, and they are all set mentally, physically, and psychologically. In short, we have done our part—what remains is tomorrow,” Siwale said.
The Ndola-based side will have their final feel of the Franceville pitch today before taking on their hosts in what is expected to be a tightly contested encounter.
“In modern football, there is nothing like home or away advantage. For us, what we are focused on is a positive result, even here in Gabon. We will bank on our teamwork, which will give us an upper hand,” the assistant coach added.
Siwale also stressed the importance of respecting their opponents despite limited information about the Gabonese side.
“This is a team that most people don’t know much about, but we have to take the game seriously and rely on our strength. The boys are ready, the morale is high, and that gives all of us confidence that we can get a positive result,” he said.
ZESCO United, who are chasing continental glory in this year’s edition of the CAF Confederation Cup, will be looking to make a strong start in their campaign before hosting the return leg in Ndola.
