ZESCO Ndola Girls Ready for Title Defense Against Green Buffaloes

Fresh from a bronze medal victory at the COSAFA-CAF Women’s Champions League, ZESCO Ndola Girls are ready to begin their Eden University Super League title defense.
The team faces a challenging Week Four opener this Sunday at 11:00hrs against rivals Green Buffaloes at Reiz Arena in Lusaka.
Head coach William Zulu acknowledged the shift from regional to local competition.
“Yes, we are back on our local league. We are ready for this game and we’ll take it as it comes,” he said.
The clash carries added weight as it follows a recent five-goal thriller in a charity match, which saw the Buffaloes emerge victorious. Zulu, however, believes this league match is a different ball game from the preparatory encounter.
“That game was a preparatory match for us. Now, we are out of COSAFA. We are done now. Back to our business,” Zulu stated. “Our focus is to defend the title, the championship.”
Zulu stressed that the team must approach the game with caution and an increased effort, recognizing the caliber of their opponents.
“Buffaloes is not a small team. It’s a big team. So, we have to be cautious when playing them. We have to work extra hard. We go an extra mile to reap what we want to get.”
He ended his remarks with a heartfelt appeal to the fans, urging them to come out and support the team.
“They just have to come and encourage us, cheer us and encourage us. We need them.”
