ZESCO Forwards Confident Ahead of CAF Confederation Cup Tie in Gabon

ZESCO United forwards Amine Hiver and Freddy Michael have expressed confidence as the Ndola-based side prepares to face FC 105 Libreville of Gabon in Saturday’s CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first leg. The match will kick off at 17:00 CAT at Franceville Stadium.

Speaking to the club’s media, Hiver—who previously played in Gabon—said returning feels like a homecoming and vowed to help ZESCO secure victory.
“I’m very happy to be back with my teammates, and it’s important for me to be here again,” he said. “I’ve played in Gabon before with one of the biggest teams there, so going back feels like home. I’m excited to return and determined to bring back a victory. The support from our fans, whether at home or in the stands, gives me confidence, and I want to make them proud.”

Freddy Michael has described the match as an opportunity to shine on familiar ground.
“Gabon is close to my home, so it feels normal and exciting to play in a French-speaking country,” Michael said. “It’s almost like playing at home because many people from my country will be watching. For us, especially the French speakers, this is a platform to show our talent, play our best football, and bring a victory to ZESCO.”

The striker also outlined his simple but crucial objective for the match: “As a striker, my goal is always to score—that’s my job.”

ZESCO United will aim to grab an early advantage in Gabon before hosting FC 105 in Ndola for the return leg, as they seek to progress deeper into the continental competition.
