Zambia’s Muzala Samukonga Ready for Nike Prefontaine Classic Showdown

Zambia’s sprint sensation Muzala Samukonga is set to represent the nation this weekend at the Nike Prefontaine Classic, one of the most prestigious athletics events on the global calendar. The meet will take place at the iconic Hayward Field, University of Oregon, United States.
Samukonga will compete against some of the world’s fastest men, including Olympic gold medalist Quincy Hall and silver medalist Matthew Hudson-Smith, both of whom were on the podium with Muzala at the recent Olympic Games, where he proudly secured bronze for Zambia.
Zambia Athletics has expressed its full support for Samukonga as he prepares to challenge the elite once again.
“This promises to be an exciting and highly competitive race. We extend our best wishes to our champion, Muzala Samukonga. Go make Zambia proud once again,” the federation said in a statement.
The Nike Prefontaine Classic will offer another opportunity for Samukonga to showcase his growing dominance on the international stage and continue to inspire the next generation of Zambian athletes.
Fans across the country will be watching closely as the Zambian flag flies high in Oregon.
