Zambia U20 Coach Charity Nthala Eyes Second Win Against Angola at COSAFA Region 5 Games

Copper Princesses U20 head coach Charity Nthala says her team is fully focused and motivated ahead of their second Group B match against Angola at the ongoing COSAFA Region 5 Youth Games in Windhoek, Namibia.
Speaking after the team’s final training session at UNAM Stadium this afternoon, Nthala praised her squad’s preparation and emphasized the need to approach the clash as a fresh challenge, despite the confidence boost from their dominant 3-0 victory over South Africa in their tournament opener.
“The training session today was okay. We have prepared well against Angola. The girls have big morale — they want to do what we did yesterday and win the next game,” said Nthala.
However, the coach was quick to remind her players not to dwell on past success.
“I’ve told the girls to forget about the win we had yesterday. Tomorrow’s game is a fresh one, and we must aim to collect three maximum points again if we want to reach the semi-finals.”
She also stressed the importance of clinical finishing, highlighting missed opportunities in the opener.
“We had many chances against South Africa but didn’t utilize them. So tomorrow, in the first 20 minutes, we must set Angola under pressure and try to seal qualification to the semi-finals early.”
On the team’s fitness, Coach Nthala confirmed there are no injury concerns, with only one player slightly unwell but expected to recover.
The Copper Princesses will face Angola tomorrow at 15:00hrs.
