Zambia Midfielder Benson Sakala Signs with Bohemians Praha 1905

Zambian international midfielder Benson Sakala has completed a move to Bohemians Praha 1905, marking a new chapter in his European football journey.
The 28-year-old joins the Czech First League side, popularly known as “The Kangaroos,” after a solid season with Mladá Boleslav, where he made 16 league appearances and scored two goals. Although he was an unused substitute in his final game for Boleslav, Sakala’s performances throughout the campaign caught the attention of Bohemians, who have moved swiftly to secure his services.
Bohemians Praha 1905 finished 8th in the 2024/25 Czech First League season, and the club is looking to build on that performance heading into the next campaign. Sakala’s addition is expected to bolster their midfield options and bring both experience and physical presence to the squad.
Sakala is also part of the provisional Zambia national team squad named by head coach Avram Grant for upcoming international friendlies against Sudan and Tunisia. His call-up highlights his growing importance to Chipolopolo as they gear up for crucial fixtures ahead of World Cup qualifiers.
Bohemians, who participated in the 2023/24 UEFA Europa Conference League but exited in the second qualifying round after being eliminated by Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt, are aiming to push for higher finishes and possible European qualification in the coming seasons.
Sakala’s move is not only a boost for the Czech club but also a significant step forward for the Zambian midfielder as he continues to make his mark in European football.
