Zambia Men’s Volleyball Gears Up for Zimbabwe Friendly

Zambia’s Men’s Volleyball National Team is set for a high-profile friendly against Zimbabwe this weekend, with first Assistant Coach Barry Muluti expressing confidence in the team’s preparedness.
Muluti said the squad has been carefully assembled from the best players across Zambia’s domestic clubs, reflecting the growth of the sport over the past several years.
“The team is very prepared. For the past four to five years, we’ve had a very strong and prestigious league going on in Zambia, and our teams in Southern Africa have been doing very well. The players that have assembled are the best from all the clubs we have in our country. I can comfortably say we have the best team in camp and the best team to represent Mother Zambia,” he said.
He also highlighted Zambia’s rise in the region over the last decade.
“The last time we had a national team over 10 years ago, Zimbabwe was actually a powerhouse in Southern Africa. But if you go back four years ago, Zambia is a team to watch. Zambia is a team to beat,” Muluti added.
The friendly against Zimbabwe will serve as both a test of the team’s strength and an opportunity to showcase the development of volleyball in Zambia.
