“We Are Impressed”: Honour Janza Leads Zesco Delegation Visit to Kaizer Chiefs Village

Zesco United Technical Director Honour Janza has praised Kaizer Chiefs for their warm hospitality during a visit to the South African club’s headquarters on Friday morning, calling the facilities “impressive” and expressing hope for future collaboration.
“We are grateful to Chiefs for hosting us. We are very impressed with their facilities and are hoping to continue working with them in the future on various projects,” said Janza, following a tour of the Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena.
The Zambian Premier League giants were represented by a high-level delegation that included Muntanga Sibalwa (Board Member and head of delegation), Milton Syulikwa (Board Member), Chipasha Bwalya (Finance Manager), Brian Mupeyama (Head of Administration), and Janza himself. The visit forms part of a broader effort to strengthen inter-club relations on the continent, as both sides prepare for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
Adding a nostalgic and symbolic touch to the occasion was the presence of former Kaizer Chiefs and Zambia striker Collins Mbesuma. The 2004/05 PSL top scorer and two-time league champion with Amakhosi accompanied the Zesco officials during their visit, underlining the historic ties between Zambian football and the Soweto giants.
Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. welcomed the delegation, highlighting the importance of continental partnerships: “For us, it is important to build strategic partnerships with teams on the continent, so it was good for us to interact with and exchange ideas with Mr. Sibalwa and his delegation.”
With both clubs set to feature in the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup, this visit may not be the last time they cross paths, on or off the pitch.
