Trident FC Confirms Departure of Head Coach George Chilufya and Assistant Jackson Mwanza

Trident Football Club has announced the immediate departure of Head Coach George Chilufya and his assistant Jackson Mwanza, marking another significant shift in the club’s technical leadership just four months after their appointment.
The club confirmed the development in a press statement released Tuesday morning, stating that the duo had left in pursuit of new opportunities. The departures bring an end to a short but eventful stint at the helm of the Kalumbila-based outfit.
“We are grateful for their service and commitment to the club. We wish them success in their future endeavors,” said Trident FC CEO Mvula Mangulenje.
Chilufya, who holds a CAF A license, was appointed head coach in February 2025 following the exit of Ernest Kofi. His arrival was seen as a strategic move aimed at reviving Trident’s promotion push to the Super League after narrowly missing out last season.
Chilufya is linked with a move to Kabwe Warriors following the departure of Albert Kachinga.
While the club has not disclosed specific reasons behind the sudden departure, the announcement comes at a time when Trident FC is undergoing an internal review ahead of the 2025/26 season.
