At Munis Grounds, Chipata City Council FC earned a vital 1-0 victory over Muchinga Blue Eagles in a tense Group B clash. A 56th-minute strike from Nsama Mukalula proved the difference, boosting Chipata’s chances ahead of a decisive tie against Mathkat United on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, Solwezi Academy and Mathkat United shared the spoils in a 0-0 draw. The match lacked clear chances but showcased tactical discipline and defensive organization from both sides. Crown FC, who were on a bye, will return to face Solwezi Academy next.
Meanwhile, at Edwin Imboela Stadium, Makeni All Stars solidified their position at the top of Group B with a commanding 3-0 win over Nangweshi Pirates. In the day’s final fixture, Teta FC mounted a spirited comeback to beat Bart’s FC 2-1. After going behind to Semiwe Mwila’s 25th-minute goal, Teta responded swiftly with back-to-back strikes from Benson Mwila and Mathews Chanda in the 55th and 57th minutes to snatch the win.
Roan United, who sat out the day’s action, will re-enter the fray with a top-of-the-table encounter against Makeni All Stars, while Bart’s FC look to revive their campaign against Nangweshi Pirates.
