Simon Kangwa Appointed Head Coach of Atletico Lusaka

Atletico Lusaka Football Club has confirmed the appointment of Simon Kangwa as the new Head Coach of the Senior Men’s Team, marking a significant step forward for both the club and the Zambian tactician.
Kangwa, who has been part of the Atletico Lusaka project since its inception, transitions into the head coach role after serving as the club’s goalkeeper coach in the past season. His elevation comes as recognition of his deep understanding of the club’s footballing philosophy and his continuous growth in coaching.
“We are pleased to appoint Simon Kangwa as Head Coach,” the club stated in a media release. “His technical growth and personal alignment with our values make him the ideal candidate to lead our senior men’s team.”
Kangwa is currently in Morocco, serving as the goalkeeper coach for the Zambia Women’s National Team, the Copper Queens, who are participating in the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). His involvement at national level is seen as further testament to his tactical acumen and leadership credentials.
Atletico Lusaka’s Technical Director, Miguel Martinez Latorre, will continue to work closely with Kangwa in a collaborative effort focused on enhancing the development of Zambian players and contributing positively to the country’s football landscape.
