Paramount Chief Mpezeni to Officiate 2025 Fashion Sakala Jr Final

The 2025 Fashion Sakala Jr Cup grand finale is set to receive a touch of royalty, with Paramount Chief Mpezeni confirmed as the Guest of Honour for the final, following a high-level visit by the Eastern Province Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) executive.

Led by provincial chairperson Patrick Nyirenda, the delegation paid a courtesy call on the traditional leader at his Ephendukeni Palace, where they officially extended the invitation for the 29th June 2025 finale, to be held at David Kaunda Stadium in Chipata.

The delegation also included Fashion Sakala Sr. and Chief Maguya, a well-known supporter of grassroots football in the region.

In his remarks, Inkhosi Yama Nkhosi commended the FAZ Eastern Province leadership for its visible efforts in uplifting the standard of football, particularly celebrating the promotion of Chipata City Council and Valley Queens FC into the National Division One Leagues, a historic achievement for the province.

He also expressed gratitude to Fashion Sakala Jr for his continued philanthropic work aimed at improving the lives of the underprivileged in the province.

As a token of appreciation and in celebration of the occasion, the FAZ team presented the paramount chief with a Kopa replica jersey, symbolizing the strong bond between football and cultural leadership.

The Fashion Sakala Jr Cup will climax on Saturday, 29 June 2025, with semi-finals scheduled for 28 June. Women’s matches will be held at Hillside School Ground, while the men’s contests will take place at DK Stadium.
