Nchanga Rangers Secure Super League Survival After Draw with Champions Power Dynamos

Nchanga Rangers have secured their place in the Zambian Super League for another season after a hard-fought 1-1 draw with 2024/25 league champions Power Dynamos at the Nchanga Stadium on the final day of the season.
In a high-stakes clash filled with tension and pride, it was the hosts who struck first. Luzeka Sama ignited the home crowd in the 12th minute with a crucial opener that sent a strong message of intent. But Power Dynamos, true to their championship status, responded swiftly to level the score — ensuring the contest remained finely balanced.
Both sides had opportunities to claim all three points, but resolute defending and missed chances saw the match end in a stalemate.
The result, however, meant everything to Nchanga Rangers, whose point was just enough to ensure their survival in Zambia’s top flight. The draw capped a spirited run-in from the Chingola-based side, who fought until the very end to avoid the drop.
Speaking after the match, Assistant Coach Boyd Mulwanda expressed pride in his team’s resilience:
“The boys gave it their all, and I’m proud of their effort,” he said. “This point means everything for the club and the fans. We knew what was at stake and the players responded with heart and determination.”
The final whistle was met with scenes of relief and celebration from the home supporters, as Nchanga Rangers confirmed their place in next season’s campaign — a testament to their fighting spirit in one of the most competitive seasons in recent years.
