Kundananji: Zambia Ready To Give Their All Against Senegal

Copper Queens striker Racheal Kundananji says tomorrow’s clash against Senegal is a crucial step in Zambia’s TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2024 journey, and the team is determined to claim maximum points to ease the pressure going forward.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference held at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, the powerful forward emphasized the importance of the encounter, which kicks off at 18:00 hours at Mohammadia Stadium.
“All the games in the tournament mean a lot because once you lose one, you put pressure on yourself,” Kundananji said. “This game is more important. It’s the second step in the tournament. We’ve already passed the first step against Morocco, so we need to grab all three points to ease the pressure and give ourselves motivation.”
Kundananji added that a win would not only uplift the team’s morale but also inspire teammates to maintain the right mindset for the rest of the campaign.
“The ball is round and it can go either way, but we’re going to give our best and make sure the chances we get end up in the back of the net,” she said.
The Bay FC forward also highlighted the emotional boost that comes from the presence of Zambian supporters in the stands.
“Playing away from home gives pressure, but seeing our families and fans waving the Zambian flag, chanting our names, it helps a lot,” Kundananji shared. “It pushes us to be at our best. I always appreciate the fans. It’s not easy to travel and make time to support the team.”
Zambia will be aiming for their first win in Group A after drawing 2-2 with tournament hosts Morocco in the opening match.
