Kitwe United Coach Vows Stronger Comeback After Gritty FAZ National League Survival

As the curtain fell on the 2024/2025 FAZ National League season, Kitwe United Football Club stood tall, having fought tooth and nail to retain its spot in Zambia’s second-tier football league. Despite a turbulent season marred by injuries and inconsistent form, the club’s head coach, Chisala Mwadama, remains unwavering in his belief that better days lie ahead.
“This season tested our depth and resilience,” Mwadama said. “But the spirit in this team never wavered. We believe the team will come back stronger next season. Most of our injured players are recovering well, and with a few strategic additions to the squad, we are confident of improved performance.”
Mwadama’s statement is not just a promise; it’s a rallying cry to players, fans, and stakeholders. His vision reflects a belief that the club’s struggles have forged a stronger unit—one capable of rising above adversity.
Backing his coach’s ambitions, Club President Emmanuel Numwa reiterated the club’s commitment to a fresh start. “We will reinforce the squad and work hard to return to our competitive best,” he assured. “Our eyes are on long-term stability and eventual promotion. We won’t settle for survival; we aim to compete.”
Kitwe United’s resilience was not theirs alone. The club acknowledged the unwavering loyalty of its supporters and the invaluable support from Kitwe City Council. “We sincerely thank our supporters for standing by us throughout this tough season,” Numwa said. “Their loyalty is a source of great encouragement.”
The club’s gratitude also extended to the Councillors and the city’s leadership. “We are truly thankful for your guidance and commitment. We pray for wisdom and success as you continue to lead the city and support our club,” the club said in a statement.
With pre-season preparations already on the horizon, Mwadama’s message is loud and clear: Kitwe United is not done yet. The wounds of this season may be fresh, but the vision is focused—and the comeback story is just beginning.
