Kangwa Helps Hapoel Be’er Sheva Lift Israeli State Cup in Dramatic Final Disrupted by Missile Attack

Zambian star midfielder Kings Kangwa capped off a sensational debut season in Israel by helping Hapoel Be’er Sheva to a 2-0 victory over Beitar Jerusalem in a dramatic Israeli State Cup final that was disrupted by a missile strike from Yemen.
Kangwa, who has been one of the most dangerous attacking midfielders in the Israeli Premier League this season, played a key role in his side’s win at Bloomfield Stadium in Tel Aviv on Thursday. The victory sealed Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s cup triumph and marked a perfect end to a stellar first season for the Zambian international.
The match, attended by Israeli President Isaac Herzog, was twice interrupted, first by air raid sirens following the launch of a missile by Yemen’s Ansarallah movement, and then again due to racist chants from the stands. Local media reported that Herzog had to be evacuated to a secure area, while thousands of fans were instructed to lie flat on the stadium floor during the panic. Air traffic at Ben Gurion Airport was also temporarily halted.
Despite the tense atmosphere, Hapoel Be’er Sheva maintained focus on the pitch. Kangwa’s creativity and composure helped drive the team to a well-earned win, lifting the club’s spirits and silverware in a city under stress.
Kangwa ends the season with an impressive tally of 15 goals and 8 assists in 41 matches, making him the highest-scoring Zambian in all top-flight leagues this season. He also played a major part in guiding Hapoel Be’er Sheva to a second-place league finish.
