Kabwe Warriors Appoint George Chilufya and Jackson Mwanza as New Coaching Duo

Kabwe Warriors Football Club has officially confirmed the appointment of George Chilufya as Head Coach and Jackson Mwanza as Assistant Coach, marking a swift transition following their departure earlier today from Trident Football Club.

In a press statement released Tuesday afternoon, Kabwe Warriors announced that the duo has signed a two-year contract with the club, signaling the team’s intent to challenge strongly in the upcoming season. The move comes just hours after Trident FC issued its own statement confirming the exit of Chilufya and Mwanza, citing their pursuit of “new opportunities.”

Kabwe Warriors Chairman Clyde Muleya expressed confidence in the new technical bench, praising the pair’s track record and leadership qualities.

“We have great expectations from you and your assistant. With your vast experience and winning mentality, we want to win the league this coming season,” Muleya said.

Newly appointed Head Coach George Chilufya, speaking at the unveiling, thanked the club’s executive for the opportunity and emphasized a united approach to achieving success.

“This is a club with great history and I am very happy to be here to face the challenge ahead. Football justice is winning, so even as we plan, I am sure we are here to win,” said Chilufya.

“We hope to work together as a unit, from the groundsman to the sponsor and everyone connected to the club.”

The coaching transition ends a brief chapter at Trident FC for the pair, who were appointed just four months ago. Trident CEO Mvula Mangulenje expressed gratitude for their service, wishing them well in their new roles.

“We are grateful for their service and commitment to the club. We wish them success in their future endeavors,” Mangulenje said.
