Kabaso Chongo Linked with ZESCO United, Nkana After Kabwe Warriors Exit

Former Kabwe Warriors defender Kabaso Chongo has emerged as a transfer target for ZESCO United and Nkana Football Club following his confirmed departure from the Warriors.
According to information gathered by FullTime, Chongo is already training with ZESCO United, who are scheduled for an official pre-season camp in Livingstone. His presence with ZESCO signals a potential move to the Ndola-based giants as they bolster their squad ahead of the 2025/26 MTN Super League season.
Chongo’s exit from Kabwe Warriors was officially announced on Monday through a club statement confirming a mutual separation. The experienced defender exercised his contractual right to buy out the remainder of his deal, effectively becoming a free agent and opening the door for new opportunities.
Meanwhile, more players are likely to exit Kabwe Warriors, with Zanaco FC expected to complete the signings of Tinklar Sinkala, Francis Banda, and Mangani Banda as part of their squad restructuring plans. Power Dynamos have also advanced in securing the services of defender Killian Kanguluma.
The local transfer window has started to pick up momentum, with clubs racing to finalize their squads before the new season kicks off. Chongo’s next destination remains closely watched, with both ZESCO United and Nkana believed to be keen on adding his experience to their backlines.
