Historic Breakthrough For Women’s Rugby In Zambia: Red Arrows Crowned Champions At Inaugural Eagles Ladies 7’s Tournament

History was made today at the Green Eagles Rugby Club in Kabwe as Zambia hosted its first-ever all-women rugby tournament, the Eagles Ladies 7’s Tournament. The landmark event, sanctioned by the Zambia Rugby Union (ZRU) and hosted by Green Eagles Rugby Club, brought together female athletes from across the country to compete, connect, and champion the future of women’s rugby.
In a thrilling display of skill and passion, the Red Arrows Women’s Rugby Team emerged victorious, claiming the title of 2025 Women’s Rugby Tournament Champions. The Zambia Rugby Union extended its warmest congratulations to the team for their outstanding performance and for setting a powerful example for young women in sport.

The success of the tournament was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Zambia National Service (ZNS) and the visionary leadership of Lieutenant General Maliti Solochi, Commander of the ZNS.
