Gondwe’s Call-Up to Copper Queens a Dream Come True

Margaret Gondwe, a talented defender for Green Buffaloes and the Zambia Under-20 national team, has received her first-ever call-up to the senior Zambian Women’s National Team.

Gondwe expressed her excitement and gratitude on social media, saying, “What an honor and privilege it is to receive my first ever Copper Queens call-up.”

Gondwe will join the Copper Queens camp in preparation for two international friendly matches against South Africa on May 31 and Botswana on June 3, both to be played in South Africa.

Reflecting on this milestone, Gondwe thanked her supporters, saying, “Thanks to everyone for your continued support. That’s what keeps me going and working harder all the time.”

Gondwe specifically acknowledged the role of her foundation, Luyando Foundation Sports Academy, her club Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club, family, and friends in her journey. “Luyando Foundation Sports Academy, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club, family, and friends, I appreciate you,” she said.

The team will enter camp this weekend.
