Buffaloes and Pemba Queens Impress as Women’s National League Playoffs Heat Up

Day Two of the 2025 National League Women’s Playoffs served up thrilling action at Munis Grounds as contenders battled for promotion to the elite ZPL Women’s National League.
In Group A, Green Buffaloes Girls FC continued their perfect run with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Valley Queens. Star striker Agness Ondya was the difference-maker once again, netting a brace to secure victory. Mary Phiri pulled one back for Valley Queens in the 74th minute, but it wasn’t enough to stop the reigning Lusaka champions.
Later at Munis A, Mweenzo Queens Academy bounced back from their opening day bye to claim their first win, a determined 2-1 victory over Chipembele Police Queens in front of an energetic crowd. Kalumbila Queens were on bye.
Over in Group B, Pemba Queens FC stamped their authority with a ruthless 6-0 demolition of Mulauli Academy. The Southern Province outfit showed no mercy, asserting themselves as group frontrunners with a dazzling attacking display.
In the second Group B match, Bwacha Pirates Queens FC edged Ingwe Girls 1-0, setting up a high-stakes showdown with Pemba Queens on Thursday.
Only the top two teams from each group will earn promotion to the 2025/26 ZPL Women’s National League, making Thursday’s fixtures pivotal.
