Kabwe Warriors goalkeeper Mangani Banda says his next target is to maintain his fine form to help the club win the MTN Super League title and claim the Golden Glove Award, after becoming the first goalkeeper this season to keep five consecutive clean sheets.
The Warriors have gone five matches unbeaten without conceding a goal between 16 August and 20 September 2025, shutting out Kansanshi Dynamos, FC Leopards, Nkwazi, Nkana, and Green Buffaloes. Banda’s heroics have been supported by a disciplined backline of Field Kandela, Yoram Chanda, and Killian Kanguluma.
Speaking to Zambian Premier League Media, Banda said maintaining this momentum is crucial for the club’s title ambitions.
“My personal goal is to maintain this form and help Kabwe Warriors secure a top spot in the league and make a strong case for the Golden Glove Award. Ultimately, my goal is to contribute to the team’s success and help us challenge for trophies,” he said.
Banda credited strong teamwork and communication for the club’s defensive stability.
“The key to our success has been our solid defensive organization and communication. As goalkeepers, we work closely with our defenders to anticipate opposition attacks and make crucial interceptions,” he told ZPL Media.

The 28-year-old also highlighted a standout moment from the streak — a reflex save against FC Leopards that preserved a crucial clean sheet.
“There have been some tough games, but one save that stands out was a reflex stop I made against Leopards in the Derby. The ball was heading for the top corner, and I managed to get my hand to it just in time,” Banda recalled.
He added that personal discipline and mental preparation are helping him stay sharp as the season progresses.
“It’s about setting personal goals and striving to achieve them. Every match is a new challenge, and I approach each one with a fresh mindset, focusing on the task at hand and giving my best.”
Banda also revealed he has his eyes on the record for most consecutive clean sheets in the Zambian Premier League, saying he would “love to challenge it” as the Warriors continue their impressive defensive run.
Kabwe Warriors’ next fixture against ZANACO FC will test their resilience as they aim to extend both their unbeaten streak and Banda’s record-breaking form.
